Will Murray Golf returns from the home of golf. A great 3 day trip to St Andrews with 3 lovely couples. Collected by St Andrews Executive Travel at the airport we checked into the luxurious rooms of The Old Course Hotel, giving us spectacular views over the course and on to the R&A clubhouse. We started on day one playing The New Course, over 100 years old (1895) and many say it's a better course than The Old, it was immaculate as always and a joy to be walking down the perfect fairways. Dinner that evening was at The Doll's House in St Andrews town center, where the group enjoyed a fantastic meal with great service. Day two we were blessed with tee times at midday and 2pm on The Old Course, where despite it's history, and ability to unsettle the steeliest of nerves, all 6 of the group showed their mettle and hit their best drives right down the middle! The last day we played The Eden Course which managed to provide a stern test in the windy conditions, although Michael Rowan showed it who was boss by making a birdie at the first!
Despite the occasional heavy showers the sun came out often and the courses and company kept everyone in good spirits. Next year's trip will have alot to live up to but I'm sure it won't stop us trying to better it!
